Privacy Policy
The short version
Spinception does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. There are no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs beyond Google Play's own billing library. Your save file lives on your device and nowhere else. The game is fully playable offline.
Who we are
Spinception is made and published by Groundmass LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to information when you play the game or visit groundmass.net/spinception. Questions go to aaron@groundmass.net.
Information the game collects
None. Spinception does not ask for, gather, or send us your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, photos, files, advertising ID, device identifiers, or any other personal or device information. There is no sign-in, no cloud save, no leaderboard, no chat, and no crash-reporting or analytics SDK in the app.
Information the game stores on your device
So that your progress survives closing the app, the game writes save files to its own private storage area on your device. They contain only gameplay state:
- Run progress — the current run's board, deck, score, stage, and inventory
- Meta progress — stars, unlocked cabinets, decks, symbols, trinkets and items, difficulty reached, quest and daily-quest progress, collection and statistics
- Settings — audio volumes, haptics, language, tutorial-tip preference
- A cached flag recording whether the Full version has been unlocked on this device
This data never leaves your device. We cannot see it, and it is not backed up to any server of ours. Uninstalling the app, or clearing the app's storage in Android Settings, permanently deletes all of it.
Purchases
Spinception is free to download. It offers a single optional one-time in-app purchase — the Full version unlock — and no other purchases of any kind. That transaction is handled entirely by Google Play Billing. We never receive or have access to your payment method, card number, billing address, or name. All the app learns from Google is whether an unlock purchase exists for the Google account signed in on the device; it stores that yes/no answer locally so the Full version keeps working offline. Google's handling of the transaction is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Permissions the app requests
- Vibrate — haptic feedback on spins and wins. You can turn it off in the game's settings.
- Internet and view network connections — required by the Google Play Billing library so a purchase can be verified and restored. The game itself makes no other network requests: no content is downloaded, and nothing is uploaded.
Information Google collects independently
Because the game is distributed through the Google Play Store, Google may collect information about installs, purchases, and crashes under its own policies, and may show us aggregated, anonymous statistics in the Play Console (for example install counts by country, or a crash stack trace with no identifying information). We do not receive individual user identities from Google, and we do not combine any of it with other data.
This website
These pages are static files. They set no cookies, run no analytics, embed no tracking pixels, and load no third-party fonts, scripts, or frames — every asset is served from this site. Our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested file, user agent) for security and operational purposes; we do not use them to build profiles or identify visitors.
Advertising, sharing, and sale of data
Spinception contains no advertising of any kind. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with anyone, for any purpose, including for cross-context behavioural advertising — because we do not collect it in the first place.
Children
Spinception is not directed at children under 13, and it collects no personal information from anyone, children included. The game simulates slot-machine mechanics for entertainment only: there is no real-money wagering, no cash-out, and no opportunity to win real money or prizes.
Your rights and choices
Privacy laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA give you rights to access, correct, delete, or port the personal data a company holds about you. We hold no personal data about you, so in practice there is nothing for us to hand over or erase. You remain in full control of the on-device save data described above: clear the app's storage or uninstall the app to delete it. If you believe we hold information about you, write to aaron@groundmass.net and we will respond within 30 days.
Data retention and security
We operate no servers, databases, or backups holding player information, so there is nothing for us to retain or lose in a breach. Save files stay in the app's private, sandboxed storage, protected by Android's app-isolation model.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's store listing. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
